How This New AI Tool (Sora) Impacts Creators

, holy shit!

AI is moving so fast. It’s not easy to keep up with but a few days ago big news dropped and I had to make sure it’s on your radar.

OpenAI announced Sora that enables “text-to-video.”

You can read the full announcement here but to save you time, this email shares how it impacts you.

Have you played around with ChatGPT, DALL-E or Mid Journey?

Those are all neat but Sora is by far the most interesting use-case for video creators.

(p.s. if you to stay up to date on AI, I subscribe to this newsletter from Dharmesh - he’s a billionaire engineer on the cutting edge of AI. It’s free and the best one!)

One of the big challenges of creating good video content is having b-roll that enhances the story.

Most of us try record it ourselves or use we stock footage. With Sora…

”a giant cathedral is completely filled with cats. there are cats everywhere you look. a man enters the cathedral and bows before the giant cat king sitting on a throne.” 😆

Sora isn’t public yet but it is going to be worth your time playing around with it when it goes live.

There is a fear that this will replace editors, it won’t.

It’s going to make good editors even better.

One of the big unknowns about Sora is the licensing related to the underlying content and the data it’s trained on. 🤔

We’ll see how this plays out but we’re really excited to get our hands on it and start playing around.

Do you have any thoughts on how this might shape your content ?
