BTS: the editor behind 1B views

on StoneMountain64's channel

, this week I sat down with the editor that worked closely with StoneMountain64 to build his content strategy from 2019-2021.

The strategy is still being used by Stone today and is what has enabled him to get over 1B views, on multi platforms and YT channels.

If you were in our Gaming Creator Accelerator last year, you would have learned about this directly from StoneMountain64 who teaches live inside the program.

I’ve known Stone (David) since 2016. I started out as his partner manager, then friends and since 2019 we have been business partners.

One of the things that impresses me most about David is that he doesn’t work weekends and rarely in the evenings. That time is for his family; his wife and daughter.

… but he still puts out a mind boggling 300 videos PER MONTH and live streams 5 days a week!? 🤯

How does he do it?

In 2018, David wanted to commit more to livestreaming and do it 5x per week.

He also wanted to start a family. As a father… I know the demands that can place on your time.

How could he keep up with this crazy content schedule? He was putting out 3 videos per week on YouTube and streaming 5-6 days a week.

Introducing… The Content Engine!

This was the brain child of a collaboration between StoneMountain64 and Zygo Media, the leading content production agency in gaming.

It was the key to scaling to 300 videos per month across platforms.

(ironically) Zygo is now the company that I am the CEO of and Stone is a co-owner of. A story for another day…

This content engine was also pioneered with TimTheTatman (8M subs and counting 🚀) in 2018.

An Interview with (“The Editor”) 🎙️

In this week’s The Creator CEO Podcast, I am joined by JD (aka Jordan!)

He started as StoneMountain64’s video editor and is now a content strategist at Zygo Media.

JD was key to building the content engine above and in the episode we cover:

📈 Data: How to read your YT data and use it it for growth.

🧠 Strategy: The content engine Stone used to go multi-platform.

⚖️ Ideas: Balancing new ideas with your core content engine.

💡 Editors: How to effectively work work with your editor

The content engine is a strategy that successful creators use to have more leverage for their time. After you listen, I’m confident you’ll want to implement your own. 😉

You can listen to the full episode on Spotify or Apple.

Alright, that’s a wrap . Have an amazing weekend! 🫡

(p.s. I’m really enjoying writing to you and I’m committed to getting better every week! I’m put a poll below and would love to hear from you.)
